Yesterday was my parent's 40th Anniversary Bash. They were in Australia and New Zealand for their actual anniversary, so we had it a bit after their anniversary but it was still fun! There was almost 100 people and it was so good to see so many familiar faces that have been such a part of our families lives over the years. Also, in lieu of gifts we asked for donations to their church's food bank - we were pleasantly surprised at how much food that was donated! People came in with full grocery bags of food - thank you! We played the Newlywed game and Who Wants to be a Millionaire with questions about my parents. My dad wrote a poem - which is always a beautiful addition to any big event. Thanks dad. We all had shirts taht said "I'm the daughter" or "I'm the son-in-law" as you will see in some of the pics. It was fun to celebrate these two!! Here are a few snaps from the big day (thank you to Carolynn for grabbing my cameras and snapping lots of pics). Here's a group shot and one of my parents and click HERE
to see a slideshow (may take a minute to load as there are lots of pics)...

Difference between boys and girls
Today I am babysitting Carolynn's girls - so I have 4 girls here 4 and under. These are some of the conversations I've heard so far....
Madi - I love you Paige.
Paige - I love you Madi.
Madi - I love you 100
Paige - I love you 200
and on goes the competition to see who loves who more...
Madi - I love Chloe. She's so cute.
Paige to Madi (theyr'e both playing princess dressup) You look beautiful, Cinderella.
Madi - I love you Chloe
Eden - I love you Paige
Paige - I love you Madi
Madi - I love you Paige
Paige _ I love you Eden
...and on and on and on....
There is so much sweetness going on right now it's sickening. Oh wait! Eden is now mooning the other three. All is well in the world again.

How am I ever going to know what Madi does at school? This is our conversation every day - and similiar variations - after school.
Me - "Madi, what did you do at school today?"
Madi - (with an absolute sparkle in her eye and usually jumping with excitement as only Madi can) "Well, I took off my shirt, and even my pants, and even my underwear and socks. And so did everyone else. Even Miss K. And we had a bare naked party!!!"
Me - (after I kill myself laughing) "What did you really do at school today?"
Madi - "Well, I pooped in my pants. And so did everyone else and even Miss K!"
Me - (again laughing) "Now, can you tell me what you actually did at school."
Madi - "We watched a movie. It was Lightning McQueen 2."
Me - "Really? (thinking I didn't know there was such a movie)
Madi - "No. We all had time outs for peeing in the classroom."
and on and on and on..... it goes. What a nut! Good thing I volunteer periodically or I'd have no clue what she did all day!

Last week at church I was away but tonight was told that Madi kept asking out loud during the service Dave (who was leading music) to pray to thank Jesus that He is alive. He finally did and she was happy.
At church, we tell our girls they are allowed to dance during the music, but ask that they don't run around. Since they aren't allowed to run, they like to do the next closest thing, and have taken to strolling around (usually arm in arm with Jake or Paige). Tonight madi was saying something to people as she passed, I was embaressed to find out she was saying "Hi Poopy" when I asked her. So I told her she should say something nice instead. So, on she went around and around telling everyone "I love you." And when the music died down, she shouted out "I love everyone!" loud enough for all to hear.
Last week I also missed Jake's birthday party - Pernellw as telling me tonight that at the party he was standing talking to people while holding his hotdog in his hand. He looked down and Eden was eating the hot dog right out of his hand. Atta girl!
At the Open House last week at school, Miss K told us one day Madi's best girlfriend at school announced that she was going to marry Madison - and that Noah burst in to tears when he heard!
Last week was so busy for me - 4 weddings in one week (including one in Cuba). I was bushed last night when I finally got home and was done for the week. Mark and I sat down to watch a movie... and I was asleep before the first scene.
When I got home from last night's wedding I took each girl for a walk one on one just around teh block so we could have some much needed mommy-daughter time. I love doing this - I let them lead where we are goinga dn what we'll talk about. Eden was funny though - she saw a bright yellow sports car and announced: "Look! A yellow car! Can I drive it?" I laughed - it seemed like since it was yellow, she should be allowed to drive it. Nice try.
For Mother's Day, it's our tradition to go and do family photos every year. Mark hates having his photo taken and so I ask each year for this as my gift. We didn't do it today as it was my first day "off" and home in a long time. Just needed to "be" with the girls. We went for a picnic, and a bike ride, flew a kite, played at the playground... it was great. Although we all got sunburnt.

I have been neglecting posting on here since I've fallen in love with Facebook and now have my business blog. But, I know people like the Random posts and stories about my quirky kids....
Yesterday, Mark's mother and Ron were visiting for the first time since they returned from wintering in Florida. While I was out of the room, my rude eldest daughter told them to close their eyes for a "surprise". She then proceeded to take of her pants and underweazr and mooned them! Nice welcome home...
Today Eden and Madi went hunting in the "forest" (aka our living room). Madi was armed with my purse, Eden with dad's baseball cap and they both had salad tongs. Madi was hunting for all animals - Eden was hunting for cows.
Today Eden wanted to be called "Madi" and for Madi to be called "Eden". Madi didn't want this though. So I would call for Madi - and they'd both come running screaming that they were in fact Madi and the other one wasn't. Sibling rivalry at it's best...
My cousin Kathryn and her boyfriend Aaron came up last Tuesday for a visit. They were in the door minutes before I set them to work as models. I use to babysit Kathryn and her siblings - and now she's all grown up (sniff!). Anyhow, Aaron went back to a new semester in Waterloo on Sunday and Kathryn went home today. They'll be missed - they were a great addition to the family and my girls (and us!) adore them!
Kathryn went home with a new addition - one of my cameras! So, I replaced the one I sold with two new ones. Can't wait to get my hands on them this Friday when they come in!
This weekend kicks off wedding season (yes, I've had a couple weddings already but this is full steam now). I have Nathan & Rachel's wedding on Sat. in Sarnia, and then Sunday I leave at 6am for Cuba to go do Aaron & Sandra's wedding. I fly home on the 10th and then I have weddings on both the 11th and 12th. Fun!! I LOVE doing weddings!
The girls got given lip gloss (or lip glopp as Eden calls it) from their grandparents yesterday. When they went to bed she got her hands on it and used every drop of it on her face, hands, shirt, arms.... she was covered! Note to self: do not let a two year old do your make-up for you!
My book club's new book actually looks good - it's the Time Traveller's Wife and form the intro and first couple pages I think I'll really like it. Can't wait to dig in to it while away!
Every Mother's Day my gift that I ask for is for me to be allowed to do family pics of us. Mark hates getting his pic taken - but I love taking his pic (he's so darn cute!). So, for Mother's Day he gives in. I can't decide what theme or look I want this year. Hmmmm...... (I'll post pics afterwards - no worries!)
Been enjoying Facebook for connecting with old friends and catching up with people I've not seen in eons. Makes me think about people and want to connect with those dearest to me. After my crazy week is done next week I really hope to take tiem to connect with a few of you - sit down and have a good heart-to-heart!
Just wanted to say - I have the best hubby ever. He is so patient with me and puts up with me (which is a huge undertaking!) and is just so supportive of me and all my dreaming. Such a keeper. Found a card the other day from when we were in college and it said something about following your dreams (very poetic and well written... will have to dig it up again) and just thought how timely that is for today as I feel like I'm in a place where i'm really chasing my dreams and becoming "me".
The first Wed. night of each month we have a photography group that gets together at the FRWY - it's so good to get together with people who talk my language and to share ideas, stories and life. I am really enjoying this group and look forward to another great meeting tomorrow!
Today was Madi's first field trip I had to miss. I still feel guilty and like I let her down. Being a stay-at-home mom I really want to be able to make it to all her class trips and to be involved. I felt really sad I had to miss but... I had to run to the Apple dealer as my cable was fried! Last week my battery blew up (seriously - they couldn't believe I was still using it and sent me a new one ASAP) and this week my charger went. Grrr.... Anyhow, I charmed the Apple guy and he lent me his own charger until mine came in and ordered me a new DVD drive too! Sweet!

Who are you going to marry?
Conversation overheard this morning...
Madi - "Eden, who areyou going to marry? Because I'm marrying Jake."
Eden - "Dad."
Madi - "You can't marry dad. That's silly. You can marry Uncle Dave."

My girls each have a new line they say....
Madi's new favourite line is "I'm magical."
For example, I'll say: "Don't climb over the banister [at the top of the stairs] or you'll fall." to which she replies "Well, I'm magical."
Eden's new favourite line is "It's from a movie."
For example, I'll say: "Where did you get that dried up playdough in you rmouth?" to which she replies "It's from a movie."

Does anyone have a wedding dress they're gettiing rid of? Trying to track down some for a photo shoot! They will likely get ruined so it's not like you can "lend" the dress. Thanks!

My girls were suppose to be napping right now - but I was hearing lots of giggling and running around. And then the worst sound in the world - a VERY loud THUD! I went running - Madi had fallen off her top bunk and was bawling on the floor. SHe was hysterical and screaming she couldn't move. Trying not to panic... I calmed her down and asked her again if she could move. She slowly sat up. Big sigh. Then after I got her calm again she stood up. Hooray! Although I think she hurt her tailbone she seems to be fine. Scared me completely! And do you know what she was doing that made her fall from the top bunk? Trying to skateboard on her bed with her Barbie car.
